Pilgrimage of St. Bernadette's Relics
The Pilgrimage of St. Bernadette's Relics from Lourdes in France continues in Ireland this week and will be in St. Patrick's Cathedral in Armagh on Saturday 19th October. Today the P.5/6/7 children had the opportunity to view the relics via St. Eugene's Catherdral, Derry webcam. Throughout the week, the children will be remembering the work of St. Bernadette and how she was able to communicate the powerful message from Our Lady to the world.
The pilgrimage around Ireland of St Bernadette’s relics will be a source of hope, great joy and inspiration, especially for the many people of Ireland who have travelled to Lourdes over the years and for the dedicated groups across the island who work all year round to plan pilgrimages at parish and diocesan level. Lourdes is renowned for its care and love for sick and is a special sanctuary for those who struggle with worries or decisions of one kind or another.
The relics of St Bernadette will help to remind us of Lourdes as a place of prayer and compassion for the sick and vulnerable.
St. Bernadette, pray for us!
