Important information from St. Mary’s Grammar school regarding SEAG Assessment

The following email has been sent today to parents of pupils registered for the SEAG Entrance Assessment in St. Mary’s Grammar School, Magherafelt.
To assist with the smooth running of the assessment mornings, we ask you to please communicate with pupils and parents the following key points:
- The Pupil Information Card should be downloaded and printed from the SEAG registration portal. Pupils must bring this on both assessment mornings.
- Pupils must also bring their Coloured Zone Information Card on both assessment mornings.
- If pupils arrive after the Entrance Assessment has begun, they will not be permitted to sit the assessment.
We would be most grateful if you could advise parents to check the email account (including the junk folder) with which they registered their child for the SEAG Entrance Assessment, for the information.
TRANSFER TEST ARRANGEMENTS

Thank you for registering your child to take the SEAG Entrance Assessment in St. Mary’s Grammar School, Magherafelt on Saturday 11 November and Saturday 25 November, 2023.
On Saturday 11 November and Saturday 25 November, 2023 your child should arrive at the Lower Car Park, Tennis Court Steps where they will be met and looked after by a member of staff. The Lower Car Park, Tennis Court Steps will be clearly signposted. It will not be possible for parents to enter the school beyond this point.
Your child must bring:
- their Pupil Information Card which should have been downloaded and printed from the SEAG registration portal.
- the Coloured Zone Information Card which will be issued at the familiarisation afternoon.
On arrival at the Lower Car Park, Tennis Court Steps your child will be escorted by St. Mary’s students to the room indicated on their card, where they will take the assessment along with other children from their Primary school and/or neighbouring Primary schools.
Parents should leave the site in a prompt fashion as the school gates will close prior to the assessment beginning. Where possible, parents are encouraged to park off-site and walk to the designated drop off point as traffic will be heavy on both mornings.
Please take time to read the instructions on the Coloured Zone Cards and note the following:
· It is important that your child arrives at the Entrance Assessment Centre between 9.15am and 9.35amon Saturday 11 and Saturday 25 November 2023.
· Your child may be collected after the Entrance Assessment between 11.20am and 11.35am on Saturday 11 and Saturday 25 November 2023.
Please note the following: · If your child arrives after the Entrance Assessment has begun, he/she will not be admitted to the Assessment room. · Stationery, such as pencils, erasers, sheets of blank paper, etc. will be provided by the Assessment Centre. · Rulers are NOT allowed*. (*unless a non-graduated reading ruler has been approved as an Access Arrangement) · Children are advised to wear their school uniforms. · Children must not bring calculators, mobile phones, or other electronic devices e.g. iWatches, to the Assessment Centre. · Do NOT bring a watch – there will be a clock in the room.

FAMILIARISATION EVENING
In preparation for the Assessment, St. Mary’s Grammar School invites you and your child to a Familiarisation evening on 24 October 2023 at 5.30pm in the Assembly Hall. You and your child will have the opportunity to:
- watch a familiarisation presentation,
- meet with St Mary’s staff and view a typical assessment centre in which the pupils will complete the assessment,
- and ask relevant questions.
