Today we had a visit from Paula from the Dog’s Trust. We started our morning by attending a whole school assembly in which we were taught the different ways to look after our own dogs and those of others. We were taught to remember the 3 Cs when we meet a strange dog - C - Check with the owner, C - Call the dog over, C - count to three and see if the dog will respond to us. We had good fun learning how to stand still and protect ourselves if an unknown dog comes along!
In the afternoon we attended a workshop which focused on how to read the dog’s body language, how to show our dog affection and we finished by writing a post card to our dogs or one we know, describing how we can improve our behaviour towards our pets! We learnt so much in today’s workshop that we will be able to use with our own dog. Thank you Paula for a very informative day!
